Healthwatch Rotherham
Healthwatch Rotherham is a local health and social care champion. It is here to support people of all ages and backgrounds living in Rotherham and help amplify the voices of those who aren’t always heard by services.
Healthwatch is a statutory organisation set up by the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The work makes an impact locally, but it also feeds into national research and campaigns through Healthwatch England. Healthwatch are independent from the Council and the NHS.
Healthwatch Rotherham has a strategic advisory group which shapes the work they do; this is a group of volunteers who help them make decisions about what to focus on and keep track of progress against the priorities set.
“Our focus is listening to people’s lived experiences in Rotherham, by amplifying these two decision makers to hear their stories in Rotherham and the challenges they face in the health and social care sector.”
“As an impartial body, we empower people's lived experiences to feed into systems such as RSAB to support the prevention of services from becoming unsafe or to become safer through their trust in us with their personal experience stories.”
